Pre-Steam Demo Update

Hello Cryptid Farmers!

In preparation for my Steam page trailer recording, I'm moving ahead plans to bring in more content. To keep the live version of the game up to par with what I'm currently developing for the Steam release, I'm updating the online version thoroughly.

What this means:

tl:dr More stuff and more polish for free.

I've created a "demo" build of my most recent development build and will be uploading it here on my free web version of the game. This demo version is missing a few things from the final version (such as the Chupacabra and the ending) but it improves upon almost all aspects of the game otherwise. It is important to note that this still represents a WIP version of the game, with potential bugs and problems along with some unrefined parts, but it is all part of the development journey. Please let me know any feedback you have or problems you encounter. The demo reaches a conclusion after 3/5 tractor repairs but you can resume playing immediately afterwards without losing your upgrades.

- Corpses remain after death
- Snatcher has a new animation
- New areas added
- Security Snatcher added
- New repair mechanic added
- New Farmer animations added
- New UI animations and textures added
- New UI numbers upon harvesting crops + total harvest
- New UI speech bubbles for chat
- New shop keeper dialogues
- Reworked Chat
- New local options added
- New deployable fences added
- Upgrade rebalance (Crop value slightly harder to max out on now)
- Theft detection graphic improvements
- 1-2 bonus mystery events added
- Ellie voice acting added (still a WIP!)

What's still to come:

- More cryptids
- More ending
- Compost
- And more!

A last word

Cryptid Farm development is still going stronger than ever these days, thank you to all those who continue to stick with the project and even just to those who enjoy the game. This project continues to inspire people and I love seeing that it still isn't forgotten after so long. I always said I wouldn't update the online free version of the game until the main release, but I realised just how much has changed over time and made the decision to bring the live version up to pace. It's honestly quite scary sharing this version of the game after so long, but I hope it still makes people laugh (and scream!).

Thanks for reading and happy farming!
